Youth Parliament organizes 3rd ‘Jadeed Pakistan Conference’ to address various issues

KARACHI: With an aim to bring government, corporate sector, educationists and youth closer to share their experiences and research results on all aspects of urban development and modernization of cities in Pakistan and to address issues related to climate change, Youth Parliament organized the third edition of ‘Jadeed Pakistan Conference’ in Karachi.

The conference was attended by Syed Nasir Hussain Shah (Minister Local Government – Government of Sindh), Iftikhar Shallwani (Administrator – Karachi), Mian Anjum Nisar (President – FPCCI), S.M Muneer (Leader – Business Community of Pakistan), Dr. Farhan Essa (CEO – Essa’s Laboratories and Diagnostic Centers), Mr. Muhammad Faiz Kidwai (Chairman Rotary Pakistan Literacy Mission), Haji Muhammad Rafiq Pardesi (Chairman – HMR Group), Shahbaz Islam (General Manager HR – SSCGC), Muhammad Adnan (Group Director – A & I Group of Companies), Ahmed Chinoy (Chairman – Pakistan Cloth Merchants Association), Asif Ismail (COO & Director – Premier Cables Private Limited),  Sajid Abbasi (Director – Hussain Marketing), Mirza Shahnawaz Agha (Advisor – Allied Group), Muhammad Rehan Hashmi (Senior Political Leader), Saquib Azhar – (CEO & Co-Founder Enablers), Farhan Anwar (Urban Planner), Saba Gul (Enterprise Development Coordinator – UK AID), Zeeshan Altaf Lohya (Founder President – Z Group of Companies), Dr. Saifuddin Siddiqui (Founder CEO – Meritorious Education Network), Col (R) Rizwan Ahmed (Defence Analyst), Baber A. Ali (Head of Corporate Relations and Industry Alliance – APTECH Learning Pakistan).

Welcoming the dignitaries and participants Chairman Youth Parliament Rizwan Jaffar said: “Our dream and struggle is for a better Pakistan. We aim to bring government, corporate sector, educationists and youth to share their experiences and research results on all aspects of urban development and modernization of cities in Pakistan. Besides several challenges climate change is the biggest threat. We need proper planning and research to solve climate change”.

“Youth Parliament is going to launch Social Reform Agenda which will enable youth to have access to opportunities and platforms to take steps for sustainable development of society”, he added.

Addressing the conference Sindh Minister of Local Government Syed Nasir Hussian Shah said: “Youth Parliament has always contributed in the social development of Pakistan. I appreciate the efforts of Rizwan Jaffar and his team. Youth must get ready for the upcoming Local Body Election. The new local body system of Sindh Government will create empowerment in the province”.

Administrator Karachi Iftakhar Shallwani congratulated Youth Parliament for organizing successful 3rd Jadeed Pakistan Conference. “The theme of 3rd Jadeed Pakistan Conference is very important. Karachi has its own importance not only in Pakistan but also around the world. We will revive the glory of Karachi. During my recent visit to Turkey I had met representatives of different companies and planned for running tram service in Karachi as well as uplifting parks and libraries”, he said.

Leader of Business Community S. M Muneer said: “Government and business community must join hands for the development and growth of country. Only with unity and honesty we can achieve our goals”. On this occasion, several companies, brands and corporations were conferred awards for showing outstanding performance and contributions for Jadeed Pakistan. These companies included HMR Group, Sui Southern Gas Company, Hussain Marketing, Dr. Essa Lab and Diagnostic Center, Daewoo Express, Al Karam Towels, A & I Group of Companies, Arif Habib Commodities, Vital Tea, Meritorious Education Network, Z International School, Digital Drive & AU Communication. Youth Parliament also appreciated and acknowledged several non-profits for their work in community development.
