Youth marks APS attack anniversary by organising candle light vigils

ISLAMABAD, 16th Dec, 2018: Candle light vigil was organised by Youth Parliament at Islamabad Press Club on Sunday to pay homage to the martyred students and teachers marking the 4th anniversary of the terrorist attack. Other events marking the APS attack were also organised in Gilgit Baltistan and AJK as well under the umbrella of Youth Parliament.

The attack took place on December 16, 2014, when six terrorists stormed the school killing 147 a figure which included both students and teachers. All six terrorists were later killed by the security forces in a response attack.

Large number of Members of Youth Parliament, Politicians, Civil Society, Media Persons and Parliamentarians participated in the events.  Senator Sehar Kamran, Sahibzada Zulfiqar, Shaista Kohsa, Ubaid Qureshi Seemi Asad and Mian M. Ali Soomro paid tribute to the martyrs of the deadliest attack and their families. While talking to media participants showed commitment with the security forces to end the menace of terrorism which they termed as on it’s verge. They also said that the unfortunate incident tested the resilience and resolve of Pakistan however, it brought the people even closer.
