Recent Earthquake in Turkey: Time to join hands and Show Solidarity

By: Sardar Samiullah Abbasi

More than 36,000 people have been killed and tens of thousands injured after 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria in the wee hours of 6th February, 2023. The death toll continues to rise as rescue teams are still searching through the rubble for survivors.

The people of Turkey are no strangers to the devastating repercussion of earthquakes. In 1999, a 7.6 magnitude quake in Istanbul claimed the lives of over 17,000 people. The Turkish nation has shown tremendous resilience in the face of disasters, and it continues to come together and support the affected.

The people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) & Pakistan will never forget the outpouring of support from Turkey during the 2005 earthquake that claimed the lives of over 80,000 people.

It is worth mentioning that the Turkish nation has also shown immense support to other nations in their times of need. The people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) & Pakistan will never forget the outpouring of support from Turkey during the 2005 earthquake that claimed the lives of over 80,000 people. The Turkish government sent rescue teams and aid supplies to the affected areas, showing the true essence of humanity and kindness.

As a nation, Turkey holds a special place in the hearts of many people in the region. In 2005, a devastating earthquake struck the region, causing widespread damage and loss of life. At that time, Turkey was one of the first nations to respond to the disaster, providing aid, medical assistance, and support to those affected.

The people of AJK will never forget the kindness and generosity of the Turkish nation during that difficult time. The Turkish people and government went above and beyond to support, and their efforts were deeply appreciated. The earthquake in Turkey now serves as a reminder of the importance of international cooperation and support during times of crisis.

In the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey, the world has come together to offer support and condolences. Many countries have sent rescue teams and aid supplies to assist the affected communities. The people of Turkey can take solace in knowing that they are not alone in their time of need. In another selfless act of generosity, a Pakistani man donates $30 million to support those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey. His kindness serves as a reminder that humanity knows no borders and that we are all one.

The outpouring of support from around the world shows that even in the darkest of times, humanity and compassion can shine through. Our thoughts are with the people of Turkey as they continue to recover and rebuild.
