RDA seals five site offices of illegal housing schemes

ISLAMABAD, 8th February, 2019: Under the direction of Muhammad Hayat Lak, Director Genereal, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), MP&TE Directorate RDA has sealed and dismantled five site offices of illegal housing schemes namely Blue Word City, Abdullah City, Capital Smart City, Megma City and Khanyal Housing Scheme on Chakri road, Rawalpindi.

Jamshaid Aftab, Director Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE), RDA said under section Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010 notices are being issued to the owners of five illegal housing schemes. MP&TE Directorate RDA’s Staff including Tahir Meo, Deputy Director Planning, Samiullah Niazi, Assistant Director Planning, Superintendent Scheme, Scheme Inspector and others with the assistance of the police from concerned police stations carried out operation at Chakri Road Rawalpindi. The owners of these properties were running illegal housing schemes site offices in violation of Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. Director MP&TE said RDA advises general public that they in their own interest should not make any investment in any illegal / unauthorized Housing Scheme which status declared illegal by RDA. Otherwise, they themselves are responsible for their losses. RDA also requested Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) and PTCL, not to extend services to these illegal housing schemes as its status is unapproved / illegal.
