PM approves ‘Kamyab Jawan program’ to empower Youth

ISLAMABAD, Thursday, 17th May 2019: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday has approved ‘Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan program’ to empower the country’s youth through multiple institutional mechanisms.

The announced program aimed at providing job opportunities, education, soft loans and professional skills to the youth of the country.

The approval was given at a meeting regarding ‘Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Programme’ in Islamabad.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Usman Dar briefed the meeting in detail about the program and the measures to be taken under the initiative.

He said the Kamyab Jawan Program would encompass multiple programs aimed at creating education and job opportunities and skills development to utilize the youth’s capabilities constructively.          

He said National Youth Development Index would be established and more than forty sectors have been identified for youth empowerment through coordination between the federal and provincial departments.

“Under Wazir-i-Azam Kamyab Naujawan Programme, a number of schemes will be introduced for providing job opportunities, education and professional sills to the youth.

Under the programme;

  • A national youth development framework had been devised.
  • A National Youth Council has also been formed in the country.
  • PM’s Youth Plus Portal had been established to get feedback and suggestions from the youth for development and progress of the country.
  • A National Youth Development Index will also be formed under the programme.

More than 40 different sectors had been pointed out in which youth would benefit in collaboration with the provincial governments.

According to the details available with The Dayspring “Under the programme, several schemes are being launched for the youth, including

A) Youth economic development scheme
B) PM’s green youth movement
C) PM startup Pakistan, internship programme
D) Hunarmand programme
E) and Kamyab Naujawan employment exchange programme
F) PM’s Youth Plus Portal had been established to get feedback and suggestions from the youth for development and progress of the country.
G) A National Youth Development Index will also be formed.
H) more than 40 different sectors had been pointed out in which youth would benefit in collaboration with provincial governments.
i) a youth database would be established in the light of information and surveys by educational institutions and universities for the establishment of Prime Minister’s Employment Exchange Platform.
J) The platform will be linked with all government departments so that young people could be employed on vacant posts.
K) Under the PM’s startup programme, soft loans will be given to the youth for establishing small businesses.
