Islamabad: Youth Advocacy Network (YAN), a youth-led organization from Pakistan, has been elected as the Focal Point for the Youth, Children, and Adolescents Constituency in the Asia Pacific Regional CSO Engagement Mechanism (AP-RCEM) for the 2026–2029 term, marking the first time a Pakistani youth organization has achieved this milestone.
AP-RCEM is a regional civil society platform that works with UN ESCAP and other regional processes to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, serving as the main coordination body for civil society engagement in UN policy discussions across Asia and the Pacific.
YAN’s election reflects regional recognition of its sustained efforts to amplify youth voices, promote intergenerational equity, and advocate for inclusive, rights-based development.
“We are deeply honored to represent the youth constituency within AP-RCEM. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to ensuring meaningful youth participation in shaping our collective future,” said Fsahat Ul Hassan, Founder and CEO of YAN.
YAN expressed gratitude to its supporters and pledged to strengthen youth engagement mechanisms, foster cross-sector collaboration, and bring youth perspectives to the forefront of policy dialogues and SDG implementation across the Asia-Pacific region.
