Hollywood Comedies of 2019

Don’t we all wish that our life would be easy breezy like a comedy? (Or is it just me?) With witty characters, funny sidekicks and a guaranteed happy ending. Now everyone has their own favourite types of comedy and not all jokes are for everyone’s taste. However it is safe to say that “Everybody loves a good laugh”.
Although, some of the anticipated movies are yet to be released this year, let’s have a look at the hilarious funnies that will take over the silver screens next year.
1. The Upside – 11/Jan/2019
Cast: Bryan Cranston, Kevin Hart, Nicole Kidman
Inspired by a true story and a remake of the 2011 French film The Intouchables, The upside is the story of an ex-convict on parole (Kevin Hart) who becomes a caretaker of a paralyzed billionaire and strikes up an unusual friendship.
2. What Men Want – 08/Feb/2019
Cast: Taraji P. Henson, Tracy Morgan, Max Greenfield, Wendi McLendonCovey, Aldis Hodge
Does the title ring any bells? Well it might’ve if you’ve seen/known about the Mel Gibson starrer What Women Want. This is well, the female version of the said movie where a female sports agent (Taraji P.Henson) who struggles in a male dominated industry starts hearing the inner thoughts of the opposite sex after an accident.
3. Isn’t It Romantic – 14/Feb/2019
Cast: Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth, Adam DeVine, Priyanka Chopra, Betty Gilpin
This one’s for the Priyanka Chopra fans. A young woman (Rebel Wilson) finds herself trapped mysteriously in a romantic comedy while trying to get away from every cheesy cliché.
4. Where’d You Go, Bernadette – 22/Mar/2019
Cast: Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup, Kristen Wiig, Judy Greer, Laurence Fishburne, TroianBellisario, James Urbaniak
Based on the novel by Maria Semple, Cate Blanchett plays the character of Bernadette Fox, a woman with a strong multifaceted personality who goes missing before a planned family trip. During the search for her mother, Bernadette’s daughter Bee discovers her mother’s troubled past.
5. The Hustle – 10/May/2019
Cast: Anne Hathaway, Rebel Wilson, Alex Sharp
Another gender reversed remake from Hollywood and this time they have remade the 1988 comedy “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” where Michael Cain and Steve Martin played two competitive con artists who places a winner-takes-all and the loser leaves town challenge. Fun Fact: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was also a remake of the 1964 movie Bedtime Story starring Marlon Brando and David Niven in the leading roles.
