Great people to die with

There was a time when Pakistan international airline was famous for its exquisite service and hospitality world over and our pilots were famous for smooth landing that passengers could not realize whether the plane had landed or not. Moreover, our pilots used to go aboard to impart technical training due to their expertise especially in landing and taking-off.

It is quite famous that on one occasion first lady of USA Jacqueline Kennedy arrived in London via Pakistan international airline and on arrival she thanked the pilot by hugging him and when someone asked her how was the flight she replied “great people to fly with” since then it became PIA’s logo but some PIA officials think otherwise that it was decided in their internal meeting. Nevertheless, it was really an honour for the Pakistan international airline and our country that first lady of USA opted to travel on our national airline which is itself an acknowledgement that the service of PIA was awesome owing to which first lady of an advanced country chose to travel on PIA.

But as the time passes the service of PIA has gone down drastically by all means as the air crew staff’s behaviour as well as air ticketing counter staff’s behaviour became rude enough while their job description demands them to be hospitable and polite but this is not the case for the last some years instead different quarrels were reported to have taken place. Moreover, aircrafts condition became very bad and fragile which requires maintenance and a recent tragic plane crash tells the whole story that domestic flight could not reach to the destination safely which raises questions that how ill-maintained aircrafts Pakistan international airline does have these days although it is discovered that technical fault in the engine was highlighted before take-off in the crashed plane but still permission was granted to fly over as reported. It is also highlighted that pilot could not maintain speed and height required for smooth landing.

Nevertheless, an inquiry to be initiated which would tell the pragmatic story that what was the real cause for the plane’s crash which crashed just before seconds away for landing but what could happen now as precious lives have lost. Few years ago another PIA aircraft crashed owing to technical fault in which renowned singer turned preacher and entrepreneur Junaid Jamshed was martyred with other passengers and inquiry report confirm the same.

Our pilots are great who operates the plane even when the technical fault is highlighted to perform their duty and not only endanger their lives but lives of many people which make new logo of Pakistan international airline as “great people to die with”. May all the departed soul rest in peace and courage to bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.

Management of Pakistan international airline should seriously look into this grave matter of maintaining aircrafts owing to which lives of people are put in hazards and above-all bad name to PIA as local people scare to travel now-a-days so how can foreigners would travel on Pakistan international airline.
