PESHAWAR: Engr Qaiser Nawab, a global youth advocate, met with the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, at the Governor House in Peshawar.

They discussed the important role of youth development in shaping Pakistan’s future, focusing on the potential of the country’s young population, which makes up about 70% of the total demographic. Nawab congratulated Kundi on his recent appointment as Governor and praised his efforts toward empowering youth and women. He emphasized the importance of investing in young people for the country’s progress.

Governor Kundi shared his plans for advancing youth and women empowerment and recognized Nawab’s achievements and representation of Pakistan on the global stage. They talked about various areas of collaboration, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a focus on climate change, skills training, and creating green jobs. Both leaders highlighted the need for national unity among the youth to further the country’s development and uphold national interests.

They explored initiatives to facilitate cooperation among Pakistani youth leaders and suggested inter-provincial exchange programs to realize the vision of Pakistan’s founding leaders. They also discussed enhancing climate diplomacy by involving more youth and children, especially in preparation for COP-29 in Azerbaijan. The meeting addressed the recent challenges faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly DI Khan and nearby areas affected by flooding. They discussed the impact on youth, women, and children, and the necessary rehabilitation efforts.

The meeting emphasized their shared commitment to leveraging Pakistan’s youth potential for a brighter, sustainable future.
