General Assembly Meeting of International Youth Union of Great Silk Way held in Baku

BAKU, 19th May: General Assembly Meeting of International Youth Union of Great Silk Way held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event was attended by delegates from 33 countries including Pakistan’s Fsahat Ul Hassan Chairman Youth Advocacy Network – YAN.

During the meeting different youth development plans came under discussion including implementation of the current and future action plan, new members were also admitted to the union. The presidential and four vice presidential elections were also held. Representative of Pakistan is elected as board member of the union. It is expected that in 2019 the new Strategy of the International Youth Union “Great Silk Way” as well as recommendations on youth policy, international cooperation and the new Action Plan of the organization will be adopted.

Since 2012, International Youth Union has united more than 20 youth organizations from different countries from Portugal to China. The organization was established in 2012 mainly at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, its headquarters is located in Baku. The organization’s goal is to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties, promote intercultural dialogue, sustainable development and inclusive youth participation in the Silk Road space.
