ISLAMABAD: A condolence reference was held in the memory of eminent lawyer Sardar Muhammad Aslam Khan former Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court at Islamabad District Bar on 26th, Oct. The memorial was attended by numerous notabilities from the judicial community including Sardar Omer Aslam, Advocate Supreme Court Traiq Jehangiri, Advocate Aleem Abbasi, Zafar Khokhar, Sardar Taimoor Aslam, Arif Chaudhry and others.

Justice Muhammad Aslam was remembered as an eminent lawyer, who also served as a judge in Lahore High Court and later as Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, when established in 2007.

The speakers at the referred offered their deepest condolences and accentuated the former Chief Justice with highest regard. They stated that the legal fraternity has suffered an unbearable loss with Mr. Aslam’s death due to Novel Corona Virus.
While speaking to the occasion, Sardar Omer Khan (son of late Sardar Aslam khan) said that the values laid by his father are a beacon of light for practicing and future lawyers alike. He also stated that Mr. Aslam Khan has always surged up for verity and justice and dedicated his whole life for the supremacy of law, which is an exemplary notion for others to follow. He also added that his enviable human qualities will always be remembered.

Advocate Supreme Court, Tariq Jehangir said that we are aggrieved at the untimely demise of such a huge and eminent lawyer who has left a legacy behind him. He indeed was a pillar of strength for the entire legal community.

Sardar Muhammad Aslam Khan, started his practice as an Advocate in the year 1973. He was enrolled as an Advocate High Court in the year 1976 and then as an Advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan in the year 1982. He had the distinction of being elected as President, Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench Bar Association, Rawalpindi.

He had also distinguishly served as the Deputy Attorney General in the year 2001. He also remained as member of Punjab Bar Council. Justice (R) Sardar Muhammad Aslam was elevated as Judge of Lahore High Court in 2003 and later served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He was elevated as the first Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court on 7th February, 2008.
