Commissioner and Chairman of Rawalpindi Gymkhana Club Inaugurate State-of-the-Art Grass Court, Unveil New Facilities

Rawalpindi: In an exciting development, Commissioner Rawalpindi and Chairman of the prestigious Rawalpindi Gymkhana Club, Liaquat Ali Chatta, formally inaugurated the cutting-edge grass court at the Gymkhana Club. This milestone event marked not only the introduction of the grass court but also the introduction of a range of modern sporting amenities for the club’s esteemed members.

Members of the Gymkhana Club can now enjoy a diverse array of sporting options, including swimming, squash, badminton, cricket, and access to a fully-equipped gym with modern machines. Additionally, the facility will offer tennis enthusiasts the opportunity to play their favorite sport.

Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta expressed future plans for the club, announcing the ambitious project to construct six grass courts and one clay court, all under the meticulous supervision of Additional Commissioner Majid Ali. These courts are expected to be ready for use within the coming weeks, greatly enhancing the club’s sporting facilities.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, an exhibition match was organized, featuring players from Faisalabad Gymkhana, Sargodha Gymkhana, Lahore Gymkhana, and the Rawalpindi Gymkhana. The Rawalpindi team was led by Commissioner Pindi Liaquat Ali Chatta and represented by Malik Abid Mehmood of Lahore Gymkhana. Coach Aurangzeb presided as the referee.

The grand opening of the tennis court was attended by dignitaries, including Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Majid Ali, General Manager of Rawalpindi Gymkhana Club Engineer Lal Khan, Secretary Chaudhry Nadeem Rauf, former president of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce Sohail Altaf, Governor Raja Faisal Aziz Bhatti, and Syed Rizwan Haider Mashhadi, among other distinguished board members.

Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatta spoke about the club’s vision, emphasizing the commitment to providing world-class sporting facilities to its members. The forthcoming expansion with six grass courts and a clay court showcases the dedication to fostering a vibrant sporting community in Rawalpindi Gymkhana. These courts are set to become operational in the near future, promising exciting opportunities for tennis enthusiasts and further elevating the club’s sporting status.
