Bushra, a young Pakistani social media strategist awarded for clearing Pak-Turk TikTok controversy

ISLAMABAD: Bushra Saqib Kiani, a young social media strategist from Pakistan has received an appreciation award from ‘The Youth Diplomacy Forum’ (YDF) for playing her role in resolving the TikTok controversy in Turkey that arose after inappropriate videos of Turkish women got uploaded by Pakistani illegal immigrants on TikTok.

Bushra spoke at a session during the ‘Mena Certificate Program’ that was focusing Pak-Turk relations. The program was organized jointly by YDF and Middle Eastern Studies Center (ORSAM). The one month e-program covered MENA region’s economy, political system, bilateral ties, history etc. Bushra Saqib from Pakistan highlighted and discussed with participants the importance of collaboration of MENA region both from Turkish and Pakistani perspectives.

Bushra, while speaking about the award said that some Pakistani illegal immigrants tried to malign the relations of brotherly countries Pakistan and Turkey by uploading inappropriate videos of Turkish women on TikTok. She said that there was a growing wave of anger among Turkish women for those Pakistanis that had to be minimized and she successfully played her role to do so.
