India itself claimed to be a secular country. But in fact, it never acts like that. Of course the present Narendra Modi’s government is a communal one. What about the communist bloc? Is it free from communalism? The answer is no.
The Indian communist parties are using the Muslims in their own interest. They pretend themselves as friends of the Muslim, although they don’t believe it. The BBC, in its analysis, revealed.
India, which was liberated from the British colonial rule in 1947 based on geo- religious grounds, has always acted as a communal country although it acts as if it is a secular country. The verdict in the case of Babari Masjid is a strong example of it.
It is mysterious that the court found no one guilty for the demolition of Babari Masjid, for which it acquitted all the 32 living accused
Writer and president of the Muslim Women’s Forum Syeda Hameed in her resent writing in the HindustanTimes stated – there is one talisman for Muslims which has been given by none other than their sole guides, the Koran and the Prophet. They should clearly, politely and unequivocally refuse the offer of five acres of land in Ayodhya. Then they should say to the powers that be: “Since you have in one voice given the judgment that the demolition and placement of idols was illegal then don’t give us substitutes like pieces of land; we reject such offers. In the spirit of your judgment, just give us one assurance that this will never happen again.
Even, the Hindu, in its editorial was critical with the verdict stating that- It is indeed true that it is not easy to prove a conspiracy, as it essentially takes place in secret. This is where courts must draw reasonable inferences from the circumstances. But in a conspiracy of this nature, it is easy to see that those involved were “marching under a banner”, an image the Supreme Court had once referred to while explaining the ingredients of a conspiracy. In this case, apart from the political mobilisation and the purported intent to assemble on a particular day, the court had with it sufficient evidence that there was studied inaction on the part of the State, whose Chief Minister was one of the accused, and the unambiguous and open threats to the structure voiced by many of the movement’s protagonists. The dissembling Kalyan Singh, as Chief Minister then, had given what, in hindsight, was an obviously false assurance to the highest court and the National Integration Council that nothing but a symbolic ‘kar seva’ would take place. Specific instructions appeared to have been given to the security forces not to stop the ‘kar sevaks’ or hinder their plans. How else would one explain the events?
It is mysterious that the court found no one guilty for the demolition of Babari Masjid, for which it acquitted all the 32 living accused including former deputy prime minister LK Adbhani, although the act of the ancient mosque occurred in broad daylight. Enormous number of people on board and abroad witnessed the act of demolition of the historic mosque. The verdict, which took three decades to be pronounced, was said to be made after examining over seven thousands pieces of evidence, photographs and audio clips, and recorded deposition of 850 witnesses.
The BBC Bangla Service, in its analysis, describes that the rule of BJP has thrown 20 crore of Muslims at a cramped corner, although the country, which was declared independence in 1947, is claimed to be the largest democratic country. Muslims are even accused for the spread of Covid- 19. They are deprived and repressed in every sector.
Following the NRC, scores of Muslims were killed in India. They had to face untold repression and tortures, too. Even journalists had to prove that they are not Muslims.
The NRC, National Register of Citizens is a register of all Indian citizens whose creation is mandated by the 2003 amendment of the Citizenship Act, 1955. Its purpose is to document all the legal citizens of India so that the illegal immigrants can be identified and deported. The BBC analysis also pointed this out.
The above examples are not enough to describe India as a communal country, but these are only a few amongst so many.
