APC – A Gang Of the Iniquitous

By: Malik Arsalan Awan

Every child knows that the army is the guarantor of Pakistan’s security and stability. The Pakistan Army is undoubtedly a constitutional institution and as such, its co-operation with the government is also part of the constitutional process. However, the future of Nawaz Sharif and his party has been called into question at the All Parties Conference as the Nawaz government had vacated an important post like that of the foreign minister, for four and a half years and yet these former rulers point fingers at the country’s foreign policies. What could be more ironic than that?

The political veteran shouldn’t mimic the ludicrous acts that Altaf Hussain has done over the years. He maybe following in the footsteps of the founder of MQM but he should also keep in mind the fate of those who have become a thing of the past in national politics today. On the other hand, according to their old ways, the opposition parties put the first point in the next strategy that the Prime Minister should resign, otherwise a phased movement will be launched. Obviously, the Prime Minister will not resign on any demand, nor will the government go home on this “noble demand”. Interestingly, Nawaz Sharif now reminisces Kashmiris as well. However, when he was the Prime Minister and India was martyring innocent Kashmiris by bombing the LoC on a daily basis, ‘Mr.’ Narendra Modi was exchanging turbans and sending sarees to his family while the army was killing them on the LoC.

In this context, it needs no introduction that the opposition, especially the PPP and the PML-N, have been toying with the country and the entire nation is suffering today and some quarters are sharply criticizing other state institutions, including the judiciary. However, no one knows that the chairman of NAB was appointed jointly by the two opposition parties and when he was in the government, neither NAB was abolished nor NAB law was changed. It is no secret that statements are being made against national institutions were at the behest of India because the corrupt elite want to rule the country to protect their illegal assets. Everyone is well aware of this. That the Indian rulers have never recognized Pakistan from the very first day of its existence, so India’s opposition to Pakistan is understandable, but it is needless to say that the man has been blessed in the past who has been appointed by this nation three times to the highest office like the head of government. He also ruled Pakistan’s largest province for five years without any participation, but sacrificed to the person who on the one hand openly criticized the Pakistani forces and on the other hand the highest judiciary, Chief Election Commissioner and He did not even spare the NAB chief, although if there is any truth in what he said, then the question arises as to why he did not really rectify the situation during his long tenure. It is no secret that the PPP has been following the same path, whether it is Sindh or Karachi. The people there are deeply entangled in basic problems. Unfortunately, they have been trying to overthrow the government in Pakistan for a long time. It has become the norm and the current opposition is following the same path.

In any case, it should be borne in mind that the PTI must also remember that the common people are seeing and understanding everything. In such a case, if the promises made to the people are not fulfilled in the next 3 years, then the consequences. The present government has to be prepared to suffer. However, it is encouraging that the captain has stopped his ministers from making statements on sensitive issues which should be welcomed.
