MIRPUR, AJK – The Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) government has unveiled a Rs3 billion endowment fund to combat unemployment by providing interest-free loans to skilled youth.
AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq announced the initiative during a press conference in the state’s capital on Wednesday. He emphasized that the fund aims to eradicate joblessness and create new opportunities for the youth of Azad Kashmir.
This significant move comes amidst economic challenges, alongside a substantial Rs23 billion package from the Pakistani government, showcasing their commitment to the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister highlighted the strong bond between Kashmiris and Pakistan, assuring that Kashmiris will not be left alone.
Addressing issues of corruption in sectors like infrastructure, health, education, and tourism, Anwar-ul-Haq reaffirmed the government’s resolve to maintain order and strengthen the state’s systems. The endowment fund has been met with cautious optimism as it seeks to turn the tide on unemployment and foster a brighter future for the region’s youth.
