RAWALPINDI, 12th Dec,2018: Betterment in the field of education has become a challenge for the incumbent Government of PTI. It has been learnt that notwithstanding, spending heavy budget on education some 4,60,000 students left public sector educational institutes in Punjab and enrolled in private institutions.

The situation has been worsen as the incumbent government of PTI has also not been able to devise any strategy yet to make the public sector education better.

During PML(N)’s tenure the education sector of Punjab was being monitored directly by the then Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and many claims were made during the tenure regarding improvements in the education sector but the figures of students who left Government operated schools and colleges are alarming and washes out any such claims of improvement.  It seems that Shabaz Sharif’s trusted bureaucracy ditched the boss by giving OK reports to him.

Same has been in practice in the current time where PTI led Government despite making many promises and claims no breakthrough can be made to improve the public sector education and minister of education is complaining about inadequacy of budget.

According to sources students who left Government institutes had reasons like inefficiency of teachers, low education standard and poverty.

According to investigation report by The Dayspring there are 4,63538 students who left primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary public sector institutes of Punjab. In total there are 1,12,94000 students enrolled in Punjab’s institutes and the number is pretty much low as suggested by United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Educationists are of the view that the improvements in the education sector in pretty much possible if the Government take it seriously.
