ISLAMABAD: By defeating Shaan Nemat by 4-2, Abdul Javed Jr. clinched the trophy of 15th Islamabad Cup Senior Championship 2025-26 at Shender 41 Snooker Academy, Rawalpindi while Musaddiq Malik remained Masters (+40) Cup champion. He defeated Sattar Khan by 4-1.
Malik Ibrar Ahmed, MNA was the chief guest at the finals who also distributed the prizes. The tournament was organised by Islamabad Billiards & Snooker Association (IBSA).
Noteable personalities Mr. Sajjad Haider Kiani, Raja Haris, Barrister Daniyal, Mr. Amir Khan, President RBSA, Malik Asghar Hayat and Mr. Sohail of Scorpion Snooker also witnessed the finals. Abdul Javed Jr. also played break of 99 in the 3rd frame. This is worth mentioning that Abdul Javed Jr. won the Islamabad Cup title for the 4th time.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Malik Ibrar Ahmed praised the game exhibited by both the players. He said our cuiests like Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Asif, Babar Masih, Ahsan Ramzan and Nasim Akhtar brought laurals for the country by winning World Snooker Championships in the past. He appritiated the Snooker owners of the twin city of Islamabad & Rawalpindi who are ever ready to provide their clubs/ premises to get these players ready for the National as well as International competitions.
Earlier, Saleem Akhtar Rana, Sr. Vice President IBSA & M.Faheem Anwar, Secretary General, IBSA presented Championship report respectively.
More than 100 players participated in the championship.
Being the winner & runner-up, Abdul Javed Jr. & Shaan Nemat will represent Islamabad in the forthcoming National Championship to be held in Karachi.
