A New Dawn: Transforming Lives through Free Corneal Transplants

SUKKUR: Tajamul Hussain, who endured corneal blindness for around eight years due to limited access to medical care and awareness, recently received a life-changing corneal transplant at the Duri Bai Khemani Eye Care and Diagnostic Center in Sukkur. Tajamul, along with some other members of his family, shares a genetic condition that leads to vision loss as they age. Unfortunately, some individuals, due to a lack of timely check-ups and awareness, experienced irreversible blindness, which discouraged others from considering corneal transplants as an option.

Fortunately, this despondency was lifted by the initiatives of Vision for Education (V4E), which promoted eye health and raised awareness through their campaigns. The dedicated team from V4E visited Roshanabad, Rohri, to meet those affected and offer assistance. This procedure was made possible through the Vision for Education Foundation’s initiative, which provides free corneal transplants to underserved individuals.
