A Battle Against Mental Illness

A Battle Against Mental Illness

By: Beenish khursheed

The word “mental illness”, yes it’s  sound weird.  But this illness is a battle ,a battle against yourself  ,a battle  against your fear  and the one who is suffering with this is not a psychopath. Who is a warrior battling against their illness lonely and trying to beat his fear of failure ,fear of unacceptability and battling against unimaginable pain in society  with the weapons of his courage .But the question raise here is why? why do people make fun of other people with mental illness ??? Peoples have to accept this reality that nothing is terrifying then battling with your own mind and emotions every single day !!! So please now we have to take this problem seriously.

The only way we can help those people who are fighting every single day is to start with us. Start with changing our mindset to thinking of mental issues as like any other illness. Like fever or body ache. Without any help, it won’t get better.

We should treat those one with love and care who are the victim of this stigma because this perception won’t change  without our effort, so play your part and  let others to play their part and let those people  know  that they are not  alone. They are surrounded by those one who loved and care them most and will always be available to them. They just have to reach out.

Being more kind won’t take much effort but it can make a whole day of the other person. You never know what type of demons those people are fighting behind the closed doors. Its about time that mental health is taken as seriously as any other problem would be. Teaching other people that seeking out medical help will not make one crazy or lunatic.  After all,
