One should always try new things in life that leads us to the unremitting improvements and allow us to be dedicated for making improvements every day, with the belief that those small improvements will add up something significant in our life.
Normally when we use the word self-improvement the first thing comes in our mind is to set a large goal, and then we take certain steps in order to accomplish the goal in as modest time as possible. This may sound very good in theory but in real it often ends in burnout, frustration, and failure. Instead, we are supposed to focus on continuous improvement by slightly adjusting to make a little change in our normal everyday habits and behaviors.
Now there is a question that comes in everyone’s mind that how does it actually works? We often convince ourselves that change is only important or meaningful if there is some great, visible outcome is associated with it. Whether it is about losing weight, starting a business or to travel around the world or any other goal, We start it by putting pressure on ourselves to make some earth-shattering improvement that everyone will talk about. Meanwhile, improving by just 1 percent we think isn’t notable. But it can be just as meaningful, especially in the long run. In the beginning it won’t have big impact on your life. But as time goes on, these small improvements will bring change in your life and you suddenly find a very big gap between you and those who rejected the idea of continuous improvement. I must say here that the small choices you have made today don’t make much of a difference at the time, but add up over the long-term.
Now, let’s talk about something we should try right now to start focusing on continuous improvement. We should do more of what already works, though the idea of doing the regular practices sounds utterly boring or it doesn’t seem new and exciting. But I tell you it works. We have so many examples of behaviors, big and small, that have the opportunity to drive progress in our lives if we just did them with more consistency. For Instance by developing the routine of getting up early in the morning and to develop the consistent bed time routine you may have much time to be present for your daily goals, by never missing workouts you may achieve most excellent type of body and health . By performing fundamental business tasks each day not just when you have time you may be capable of achieving big time success, Find an Energizing Midday Activity That’s boosts your body for the rest of the day and so on because Progress often hides behind boring solutions and underused insights. That’s why I say you don’t need a better strategy. You just need to do more of what already works.
And last but not the least. It is often easier to improve your performance by cutting the downside rather to capture the upside. Subtraction is more practical and easy to be achieved than addition.
It’s been rightly said by Mr. Matt Bevin “While it may seems small the ripple effect of the small things is extraordinary”.
