ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 2018 (Our Correspondent): The government, led by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, has taken the controversial step by putting a ban on transferring money abroad. As a result number of Pakistani students in foreign institutions facing problems as most of the students are dependent on their families in Pakistan who bear their educational expenditures.
No notification in this regard can be found but according to sources Finance Minister Asad Umar verbally ordered State Bank of Pakistan to stop sending money abroad. The situation irritated Pakistani students who are in different parts of the world for education, and their families in Pakistan are also disquieted. Talking to the The Dayspring Mr. Ashraf Qureshi said that ” the move is not understandable for me, the money you send through banking channels is declared money and by no mean comes under the category of money laundering. When Government stops us to send money to our children abroad through banks then we have no option rather than sending it by Hundi (which is illegal)” he added.
