Seminar Stresses Importance of Superior Court Reporting

ISLAMABAD: A focal point of the workshop was the call for the implementation of AI in courts to be guided by ethical standards and legal regulations, ensuring fairness and upholding the integrity of the justice system.

The speakers collectively stressed the necessity of factual and objective reporting, positioning it as a duty of regulating bodies to maintain these standards. In a recent seminar and workshop dedicated to the significance of superior court reporting, Chief Justice Faez Isa and Chief Justice Athar Minallah of IHC joined prominent figures from regulatory bodies, including directors of SECP, PEMRA, and PSB. Renowned journalists like Asma Sherazi were also part of the panel. The seminar delved into key aspects of court reporting, emphasizing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in legal matters, the roles of regulatory bodies, and the inherent subjectivity in the field. Highlighting the critical role of court reports in preserving official records of hearings and trials, the workshop underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in the legal system.
