By: Asim Nawaz

RAWALPINDI: The fourth T20I match between Pakistan and New Zealand, which was held at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday evening, was cancelled due to rain. Pakistan was leading the five-match series 2-1, and the final game will also take place at the same stadium on 24 April.

New Zealand lost three wickets within the first seven overs while batting first, and their score was 54 runs. Imad Wasim, the left-arm spinner, took all three wickets. He bowled economically during the batting powerplay and managed to take two wickets in the powerplay as well.

The left-arm bowler, Imad Wasim, took three wickets in the match, giving away 19 runs in his four overs. He dismissed Tom Latham, the captain, who scored 13 runs off 8 balls with three fours, Will Young, who scored 6 runs off 8 balls with one four, and Daryl Michell, who scored 3 runs off 6 balls.

New Zealand managed to score 164 for five in 18.5 overs before rain interrupted play. The credit for their score goes to the opening batsman, Chad Bowes, who scored 54 runs off 38 balls with seven fours and one six, and Mark Chapman, who remained unbeaten and scored 71 runs off 42 balls. Chapman had scored 34, 65 not out, and 16 not out in the three previous matches of the series and hit 10 fours and one six in his innings in the fourth T20I.

The left-handed Chapman also added a 54-run partnership with Bowes and then knitted a 30-ball 56-run for the fifth wicket with Rachin Ravindra (8, 12b).
