Sci-fi and Fantasy movies goes straight up in my Favourite Genre list and Hollywood never runs short of treating us with mind blowing movies and special effects that knocks our boots off.
It was extremely tough to select only 5 movies from a plethora of scintillating movies, so don’t get disappointed if the movie you’re literally crossing days out for isn’t in the list.
1. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Release Date: 16/Nov/2018 | Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Zoe Kravitz,AlisonSudol, Dan Fogler
Eddie Redmayne returns once again as Newt Scamander in the new Fantastic Beasts franchise and finally the fans of the Harry Potter series will be able to see a young Dumbledore played by none other than Jude Law.
Potter fanatics keep your wands close by.
2. Mortal Engines
Release Date: 14/Dec/2018 | Starring: Hugo Weaving, Hera Hilmer, Robert Sheehan
Based on the book Mortal Engines by Philip Reeves, the story is based on a futuristic world where gargantuan cities on wheels prey over smaller towns and the main protagonist Hester Shaw, a mysterious woman is the only who can stop London, a predator city from destroying everything in its wake.
3. Aquaman
Release Date: 21/Dec/2018 | Starring: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe
The recent release of the Aquaman extended trailer instantly became a hit among the viewers and the expectations of the DC fans have risen once again after the disastrous Justice League.
Jason Momoa in the lead and Nicole Kidman playing Queen Atlanna is the origin story of the Atlantean super hero Aquaman who has command over water and all sea creatures. The trailer was packed with underwater and over ground action scenes leaving you wide eyed.
4. Bumblebee
Release Date: 21/Dec/2018 | Starring: Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Justin Theroux, Angela Bassett, Peter Cullen
Releasing on the same day as Aquaman, the Transformers spin off Bumblebee is a prequel to the 2007’s Transformers movie. This will also be the first movie from the franchise which will not be directed by Michael Bay although he acts as a producer.
5. Captain Marvel
Release Date: 8/Mar/2019 | Starring: Brie Larson, Gemma Chan, Lee Pace, Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson, DjimonHounsou
After giving out a hint of Captain Marvel in the last Avenger’s movie, fans have been excitedly waiting for this female superhero to come to light. So it was not a surprise that the release of the trailer was well received and finally we’ll get to see the backstory of one of Marvel’s powerful characters.
